During my short trip to NY last week, I had the privilege of going to a party that our new friend DJ Steph Floss (eighty81.com) was spinning at. Remember Drake’s So Far Gone mixtape release party? He DJ’d it. I never really made the connection but today while I was doing my daily blog creep on Eighty81, I realized he’s the Official DJ for the #1 team in the NBA, the Cleavland Cavaliers!!
So the saying ‘no homo’ or ‘no lesbo’ pretty much top my list of pet peeves, second probably only to the use of the n word as a term of endearment… My funniest and dearest friend Mimi wrote a post about the saying ‘no homo’ and it really made me giggle so I thought I would share. Enjoy!
To one of my great friends Alain, happy birthday and best in 2009! I met Alain working in the Guess store back in 1999 in O-town my hometown…yes people it’s been 10 years of friendship! In the ten years I’ve known him, he’s been quite an inspiration. I learned a lot from his journey to success; modeling, event coordinating, clothing design, marketing etc. Thank you for being such a great influence during the past 10 years of my life!!!
Not too many years ago on this day a star was born! My girl Adjoa who I’ve known since the N.Dot days has not only been an amazing friend to me she has been an extremely motivating, positive and encouraging force in my life. You know one of those people that you don’t have to call every day, or see every week, but when you do talk, you’re back to where you left off? That’s Adjoa (and her two other sisters, LOL, love you ladies). There is something about this girl that just exudes confidence and strength. Not only is she a super amazing person, she is a wickedly talented baker, she is the best cake maker in LIFE! I’ve known her forever and it really wasn’t until my bday last year that I realized really how talented she was, she made me the illest giant cupcake cake and I died! Not only are her cakes amazingly creative, they taste good!! Like sooo good, like smear them all over your face good cuz you can’t get em in your mouth fast enough!!!! I love you Adjoa and wish nothing but the best for you. This year is your year!! Thank you so much for being there for me, for always being honest, for always giving me an unbiased opinion, most of all thank you for being you!

Last night the familia (coco & lowe + brazen hussy + purple cloth) threw a little soiree for lil sis Sarah. She wanted one more bottle poppin festivity before she begins her serious life with strict a ‘no fun policy’ at law school. There were bottles, there was cake, there was dancing, there was off tune singing at the top of our lungs but most importantly there was celebration of my little sister who is leaving and we made sure to make it the best night ever!!!!

Special shout out and thanks to the BEST cake maker ever in LIFE, Ms Adjoa Duncan of ‘pretty sweet custom cake creations’ she blew this one out of the park with a heart shaped union jack cake. The best parts were the little tributes to the city of London, the black cab, the underground tube sign, the street signs, and the red telephone booth. I didn’t even ask for these extras, they just came out of her creative little head!!! That’s why she is sooooo insane!!!
OMG, it still hasn’t set in… I’m so sad that she is leaving me….. So instead of starting to cry, I’m going to pretend its not happening (*hides true feelings in magical hiding spot that is overstuffed with emotions that I never deal with*) and spend lots of time doing what we do best together, PARTYING!!!!
I love you so much Sarah! You are the best sister a girl could ever ask for and I will do my best to get out there as often as possible to help u take over London Town. You are funny, beautiful, loving, smart and fiercely loyal and I love you more than life!!!
