adventures of coco & lowe: indoor golf!

Last Friday, Coco and I had the opportunity to take a golf lesson at Lakeshore Links, an indoor golf experience in Toronto which I was expecting to be a tall, multilevel indoor bubble. I was so wrong! It was a bright one level building with multiple rooms, a putting area and a fully stocked bar. See our experience, the venue and get some golfing style tips when you read more.

Private suite

Our instructor’s name was Ryan Woods, a passionate and professional golfer who has been dedicated to his craft for over fifteen years. He gave us great pointers on form, footwork and follow-through. It was my first time swinging a club and there is so much to remember! You have to keep grounded, bend your knees, isolate your upper body from your hips, pull back with strategic placement of arms and wrists and follow through like a baseball pitcher. I developed a huge appreciation for golfers.

Coco had perfect form and hit 126 yards!

The simulator calculates your drive distance, speed and height. It really makes you feel like you’re out on the green!

Putting was fun too!

Regardless of if you’re a golf pro or have never picked up a club, you never know when you’ll be invited to a golf course with friends or to attend a charity golf tourney *standby for info on a celebrity charity golf tourney we’re involved in organizing! The big question is what do you wear? Â Keep it simple and conservative, not wearing your shorts too short or your t-shirt too low cut (not a good idea for the bustier ladies, we can attest to that!). Comfortable shoes are a good idea whether they are runners, ChuckTaylors or even brogues. Light colours help keep you cool as it can get extremely hot out in the green and bringing a hat is definitely a good idea.

Random things I noticed about golf:

You have to have a lot of patience.

Boobs definitely get in the way of your form.

If you have carpal-tunnel, this is probably not the best choice of sport.

Any and every golf term can be turned into a sexual connotation. LOL

Boys like golf, so it quite possibly could be a good place to meet them.

Boys like girls who try to golf.

Some of the girls (namely my bridal party) have made it to Edinburgh and we’re having a blast checking out all that The Edinburgh International Festival has to offer!

The city is postcard picturesque and I’m so amped that I get to share my love for it with my besties.

adventures of coco & lowe: best day everrrrr!

On Sunday my lovely besties took me on a magical surprise day in the Niagara region.

We started the day bright and early with some horseback riding -one of my favorite childhood pastimes!!!

From left to right: Lowe on Lex, Mimi on Molson, Kiki on Â Earl and me on Cobra.

Surprisingly the horses matched our personalities exactly. Â Lex, a dreamer. Â Molson, the class clown. Â Earl had zero patience and fought with Molson and Cobra followed all of the rules! lol

We went on a lovely ride through the trails which made us feel at one with nature. Â The only thing that was missing was a little bit of open land that we could gallop and canter on.

We then headed to Niagra-on-the-Lake for a bike/wine tour. Â None of us are big wine drinkers so the tour proved to be very informative, plus riding bikes with a little vino in your system is beyond!

The whole day made me so happy! Â It was like a true adventure. Â Being on a bike made me feel like I was a kid again riding through Mimi & Kiki’s unpaved subdivision all day until we were called in for supper. Â The tour ran a little late so we missed high tea but ended up stopping at an amazing fresh fruit stand where we loaded up on the most delicious cherries, apricots and peaches. yummmm!

If you haven’t been to Niagra-On-The-Lake I highly recommend it. Â It’s not only perfect for a romantic getaway, it’s a great thing to do with some of your close friends if you want to get the chance to experience something different. Â The area is absolutely stunning and if you’re into wine or want to learn more like we did, take a bike tour and get to see the countryside up close and personal.

On our way home we were held up by this massive boat passing, so we did what we do best, PHOTO SHOOT! LOL!

When we finally got through all of the traffic, I got home sleepy and smelling like ‘outside’, but felt full of love and inspired for the week to come.

Big hugs and kisses to my besties for always being the best friends a girl could ever imagine having!!!
