While in NY last week, I went to the Reebok x Swizz Beatz collabo launch. Swizz Beatz was a great choice to design the new collection having previously worked with Christian Louboutin on their men’s shoe line and Kidrobot on art toys and apparel. Swizz invited some of his closest friends including Clive Davis, Pharell Williams, Diddy, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Gayle King, Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled and his gorge wife Alicia Keys.
A photobooth was on site…gotta love candids!
Host of Much Music’s Rap City, T-Rexxx was there having previously interviewed Swizz earlier that day.
Here’s a quick video that I thought best describes the collabo:
Great to see people coming together and making magic!

Today is a pretty important day. Not only does it unofficially mark the beginning of the holiday season, work parties, family get togethers and mad dashes to the mall, but it’s a pretty monumental day in a bunch of other ways, here are a few other things that people are celebrating today:
1. Â Happy Hanukkah!!
Today marks the first day of Hanukkah in the Jewish faith. Â A festival of lights that takes place over 8 days and nights to commemorate the rededication of the holy temple in Jerusalem. Â Happy Hanukkah loves!
2. Rosa Parks
On this day 55 years ago, a tired and overworked 42 year old woman by the name of Rosa Parks refused to abide by the segregation laws and give up her seat to a white man on her bus ride home. Â This action subsequently ignited the flame that would spark the civil rights movement and ultimately the end of segregation in America. Â Parks actions remind us even to this day that speaking and acting out against injustice is the only concrete way to enact real change.
Since 1988, December 1st has been World AIDS Day. Â Enacted to bring attention to this horrifying disease WAD has grown to be represented globally. Â Sadly, HIV/AIDS is still a very real disease that effects millions and people are still getting infected at alarming rates.
There are many ways that you can get involved, Â Light For Rights has events in cities all over the world where lights in major buildings are dimmed or turned off to show unified awareness. Â They also hold concerts and candle lighting in conjunction. Â In Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver there will be Voices of Hope concerts (details HERE) and in New York famous venues like Madison Square Garden, New York Stock Exchange, Washington Square Park, Radio City Music Hall and more will all switch off their lights to mark the occasion – click HERE for more details.
As Venus reported on coco & lowe yesterday, Alicia Keys has teamed up with her celebrity friends to ‘die digitally’ for AIDS. Â Celebs like Kim Kardashian, Elijah Woods, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Hudson and Usher will be signing off Twitter and Facebook accounts and will not return until they raise $1million for her charity Keep A Child Alive. Â Click HERE for more info
Happy December!
