I missed this movie when it first came out but luckily caught it on one of our ‘nights in’ while I’ve been away. It’s totally fantastic and great to see Daniel Craig in a role other than James Bond. You can probably rent it from your local movie rental spot and won’t be disappointed.
I -like everyone else who has watched this movie- became instantly obsessed with the Roxy Music song that Ruth sings. I had to include it in the post, the version that is lip sync’d in the movie doesn’t start until around 1:40.
I’ve also included Ruth’s version because it’s so friggin cool! I love the way this film is not only written and directed, but the way it’s filmed!
dopeness.

I walked into the theater to see Inception with as much excitement as you would have for a root canal. After the pitiful track record that so called ‘summer blockbusters’ have been having and also having realized (by way of Shutter Island) that even Leo can’t save every movie I was less than amped.
I have never been so happy to be wrong!
Inception was amazing! It was everything that a summer blockbuster should be, action packed, smart, thought provoking and a ton of kick ass fun. Not only was Leonardo DiCaprio in fine acting form, but the supporting cast that includes Ellen Paige, Tom Hardy -the hottie from Bronson, RocknRolla – Michael Caine, Ken Wantanabe, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt rounded out the film perfectly.
Captivating from beginning to end, Inception takes the viewer on a journey into the dreams of the living. Cobb (DiCaprio) is part of a select group of people trained to infiltrate people’s dreams to steal their deepest secrets. The story surrounds Cobb’s last and most risky job on which everything (including his freedom) is relying. Written and directed by Christopher Nolan -the genius behind Momento and Dark Knight – Inception is for the movie goer who wants to be taken on a ride, who’s willing to trust in the story and give themselves over for the 2 hours and 28 minutes that it takes to get there.
If you’re that person, this movie is for you!

I feel like every movie Carey Mulligan is in (except maybe Wall Street 2- only judging by trailers) is AMAZING and this one looks like another one. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro, which was short listed for the Booker prize and won the Time Magazine ‘Best Novel’ prize in 2005. Since it doesn’t come out until September I still have enough time to read the book before I watch the film. yay!
Can’t wait!

p.s. Ishiguro also wrote Remains Of The Day, another excellent book and film
