grocery cart pimpin, an inspired letter to a friend… loooool!
This is a personal yet public outcry to one of my besties Lissa.
Dear Lissa,
Remember when we were riding in the car en route to your show in Cleveland? We were laughing and singing and I told you how my favorite place in the world to listen to music (and the only public place I sing aloud to it) was the grocery store? Do you remember how specific I got, telling you it couldn’t be a fancy grocery store like Whole Foods or Pusateri’s but rather Metro or Loblaws?
Lissa, I write you this letter to implore you to please, please, please -with a bucket of Cherry Garcia on top- make a grocery store mixtape! I know you’re a busy famous DJ BUT I think this mix-tape would only make you more pop-u-lar! (possibly with the over 55 set, but popular is popular, lol) Seriously, who doesn’t like Mike And The Mechanic’s, Cindy Lauper, Luther Vandros or at least who doesn’t know one or all of there songs? We could even do the coolest cover-art involving a shopping cart and the sugary cereal aisle!
I already know two people who would snap it up! Tonya, a fellow grocery store music aficionado and Mimi who’s ipod had me wishing I could do that ‘move my hand really fast and make it snap thing’ that the kids do. We will even throw a party to celebrate it all in honor of you and mid-range grocery stores everywhere that celebrate the goodness of what is so poorly categorized as Adult contemporary – it is so much more than adult contemporary!
Anyhoot, I digress.
Just DO IT!
xoxo,
coco
